Fun places in Abeno

There are a lot of interesting places in Abeno.

Abeno is situated in the south of Osaka-city, is near Tsutenkaku or Tennoji-station.

I will introduce many interesting places in Abeno!

If you visit Abeno, you will be able to experience both traditional and modern atmospheres.

Abeno Harukas was built in 2010. It's the tallest skyscraper in Japan standing at 300 meter tall!

You can see very beautiful views of Osaka, and furthermore you can see a giraffe in the Tennoji Zoo if you are lucky, from the Harukas observatory!

My kids were excited to be able to see a very small giraffe and the Osaka Castle from there.

You will definitely feel romantic with your boy/girl friend at night☆

Hankai-Uemachi line

This is a very retro tram starting from Tennoji station, which runs through old Osaka city streets.

You can see nice old streets in Japan!

I love it because it reminds me of my old days.

I used to take this tram everyday to go to a juku (after school study), when I was a elementary school student.

Acutually, we call the tram "chinchin-densha" .

"chinchin" is the sound of the bell which the tram often rings. But "chinchin" also means dick! Ooops...

So young children find the name of this tram very amusing.

551 Horai

551 Horai is very popular in Osaka!

I recommend trying butaman or shumai. They are sooo delicious!

There are lots of chain stores and most stores have a long line everyday,  but you will be surprised to see how efficiently the shop assistants deal with getting through the customer orders.

This type of house is called "Nagaya" which is characteristic in Japan.

I'm also living in Nagaya now.

There are a lot of Nagaya in Abeno.

You can feel a traditional Japanese atmosphere here.

Actually, this house in this picture is called "Teranishi Abeno Nagaya" built in 1932.

It was first listed as a tangible cultural property in Japan.

Now this house is used as restaurants.

I often go there with my family on special occasions.

The food is delicious and also the atmosphere inside the house is awesome!!

Abeno Dango

You can taste real "Wagashi" or Japanese sweets in the store!

Although there are many Wagashi stores in Japan,  I think Abeno dango is the best!

The franchises are increasing more and more in Osaka because poeple love this store's Wagashi.

I'm so proud the nearest store from my house is the main store!
